Messi Sends Argentina To The World Cup With A Hatrick

Argentina's Messi-iah was on fire as he scored a hartick for the team against Ecuador to qualify for the Russia 2018.



According to Goal.com, Argentina's 3-1 triumph over Ecuador that sealed qualification was tense, scrappy, and more than a bit fortunate. But ultimately their magnificent captain put in the display 43 million people were waiting for to drag them kicking and screaming into the 2018 World Cup. With another result it may even have proved Leo's final game with the national team – it would at least have been difficult to imagine him soldiering on for another five years for another crack at the apple in Qatar.



The result itself was anything but a foregone conclusion. Aficionados of ominous statistics oft repeated in the build-up to the game that Argentina had won just once in the heights of Quito, the altitude of the Ecuadorian capital proving a daunting barrier to success over the years. And only a win would guarantee the Albiceleste at least a spot in the play-off, with automatic qualification out of their hands and depending on results elsewhere on a frenetic night of South American action.

Rapper Meek Mill sentenced to up to four years in jail

Meek Mill has been sentenced to between two and four years in prison for violating his parole with two arrests, one for fighting and another for reckless driving. According to the Guardian,  the Philadelphia rapper's real name Robert Williams  has been on parole since autumn 2009, following a spell in prison on drugs and weapons charges. In March this year, the 30-year-old was arrested after a fight in St Louis airport and in August he was arrested on a charge of reckless driving. Although both charges were later dropped, the judge said the arrests violated Mill’s parole. He was immediately taken into custody. Jay-Z was among those who reacted to the sentencing. The rapper – who owns Roc Nation, the company that represents Mill – published a post on Facebook saying “the sentence handed down by the Judge – against the recommendation of the Assistant District Attorney and Probation Officer – is unjust and heavy handed.” On Instagram, comedian Kevin Hart also showed support fo
