ANGRY MOB SETS DIAMOND BANK ABLAZE AT APAPA
There was total Mayhem at Apapa Lagos State as a policeman attached to Diamond Bank on Burma Road shot dead three trailer drivers, in response to the death of the drivers an angry mob set the Diamond bank on fire as the management decided to conceal the trigger policeman.
It was gathered that a trailer driver wanted to park in front of Diamond Bank since the entire Burma Road has been overtaken by wrong parking by trailer and tanker drivers.
A poloceman attached to the bank was said to have objected and in the process, constituted a brawl. The policeman was alleged to have fired at the driver, killing him immediately, while two drivers were also shot dead as they intervened.
The policemen retreated into the bank building after the killing then trailer and tanker drivers were said to have regrouped and demanded for the policeman be handed over by the bank to face jungle justice, but the refusal of the bank aggravated the mob to set the bank ablaze.
The anti-riot policemen have been drafted to the area to maintain peace and order. This include patrolling the area to stop or avoid more crises. Other banks around the area have been closed down.
